  • Type-material: 2 syntype major workers, 25 syntype minor workers.
  • Type-locality: Namibia (“German Southwest Africa”): Otjikoto, 20 km. W Tsumeb, 16.vi.1911 (W. Michaelsen).
  • Type-depository: MNHU.
  • Combination in Carebara: Fischer, et al. 2014: 72.
  • Status as species: Ettershank, 1966: 119; Bolton, 1995b: 333.
