- Type-material: holotype (?) worker.

- Type-locality: Namibia (“Südafrika”): Swakop River (no collector’s name).
- [Notes (i): this taxon is based on the single (?) worker of Pheidologeton hostilis (F. Smith), sensu Mayr, 1866b: 899, misidentification; (ii) the original entry by Santschi, 1928f: 201, refers to Mayr, 1862, but hostilis does not occur in that publication.]
- Type-depository: NHMW.
