- Type-material: syntype major and minor workers (numbers not stated).
- Type-locality: Democratic Republic of Congo: Bengemiza on Lindi river, 2 days from Stanleyville (= Kisangani) (H. Kohl).
- Type-depository: MHNG.
- Combination in C. (Tanaemyrmex): Emery, 1925b: 84.
