- Type-material: 22 syntype workers, 9 syntype queens, 5 syntype males.
- Type-locality: Algeria: Soud Arras, 11.xii.1943 (W. Pickles).
- Type-depository: BMNH.
- Status as species: Shattuck, 1994: 36; Bolton, 1995b: 81; Borowiec, L. 2014: 24.
