  • montana. Aphaenogaster montana Mackay, W., in Mackay & Mackay, 2017: 320, figs. 54, 55, 108, 111, 299, 300, 301; pls. 31-33 (w.q.m.) MEXICO (Nuevo León).
    • Type-material: holotype worker, 47 paratype workers, 23 paratype queens, 17 paratype males.
    • Type-locality: holotype Mexico: Nuevo León, 55 km. NE Dr. Arroyo, 2570 m., 10.vi.1988 (W. Mackay); paratypes with same data, nos 10991, 10996, 10999, 11000.
    • Type-depositories: MCZC (holotype); CASC, LACM, MCZC, USNM, WEMC (paratypes).
