The type material was collected from Inner Mongolia desert. Distribution of this species is limited to Alxa League in Inner Mongolia, near Ulla, nesting in the open gravel gravel beach. Only a small number of gramineae seeds were harvested in the nest. (As per "google translate" translation of He and Song 2009).

Identification

He and Song (2009) - This new species is similar to Messor valentinae, but its occipital margin rounded, scapes of antennae surpasses occipital margin slightly. A round pore is away from the declivity of metathorax, next to the dorsum of metathorax. Node of petiole lowed. Gaster takes with a few hairs.
