- Type-material: holotype queen, 6 paratype queens.
- Type-locality: holotype Venezuela: 15 km. ESE Boconó, 9°11’N, 70°09’W, 1160 m., 23-24.viii.1987, no. 1835 (J. Longino); paratypes: 1 queen with same data but no. 1820, 2 queens with same data but no.1836-s, 2 queens 18 km. E Boconó, 6-800 m., 25.viii.1987, no. 1856-s (J. Longino), 1 queen 14 km. ESE Boconó1500-1850 m., 25.viii.1987, no. 1860-s (J. Longino).
- Type-depositories: MCZC (holotype); LACM, MCZC, MIZA (paratypes).
- Status as species: Shattuck, 1994: 20; Bolton, 1995b: 79.
- Distribution: Venezuela.
