Identification
Bolton (2007) - A member of the Technomyrmex schoutedeni group. From the original description this species is very close to Technomyrmex schoutedeni and will answer the description of that species except for colour. In zimmeri the gaster is stated as being black (but each gastral segment with a yellow posterior margin), distinctly darker than the head and mesosoma which are yellowish red. Conversely, in schoutedeni the gaster is reddish yellow to orange, distinctly lighter than the reddish brown to blackish brown head and mesosoma.
