- caliginosum. Amblyopone caliginosa Onoyama, 1999: 158, figs. 1-9 (w.q.) JAPAN.
- Type-material: holotype worker, 5 pratype workers, 1 paratype queen.
- Type-locality: holotype Japan: Kanagawa Pref., Cape Manazuru, 13.xii.1981 (K. Masuko); paratypes: 4 workers, 1 queen with same data, 1 worker with same data but 19.ix.1982.
- Type-depositories: OMNH (holotype); OMNH, OUOJ (paratypes).
- Combination in Stigmatomma: Yoshimura & Fisher, 2012a: 19;
- combination in Bannapone: Eguchi, et al. 2015: 82;

Eguchi et al. (2015) - Holotype: worker, Japan: Kanagawa: Cape Manazuru, 13/xii/1981, K. Masuko leg., Type No. OMNH TI 102, Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, University of Oklahoma, not examined. Paratypes: 1 female and 4 workers, same data as the holotype, not examined; 1 worker, Japan: Kanagawa: Cape Manazuru, 19/ix/1982, K. Masuko leg., not examined.
