The taxonomomic placement of this genus is uncertain and it is currently considered incertae sedis in Formicidae. There are four species found in Florissant shale (Oligocene) from Colorado, USA.
Identification
Male. - Length, 7.5mm; head small, nearly round, but somewhat broader behind; thorax broad, about twice as wide, and more than twice as long as the head and somewhat broader. Length of head, 1.2mm; thorax, 2.2mm; gaster, 2.7mm.
Distribution
This taxon is known from Green River Formation, Colorado, United States (Lutetian, Middle Eocene); Kishenehn Formation shale, Montana, United States (Lutetian, Middle Eocene) and Kleinkems, Germany (Early Oligocene).
