This worker key is based on: Kiran, K., Alipanah, H. & Paknia, O. 2013. A new species of the ant genus Aphaenogaster Mayr (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) from Iran. Asian Myrmecology 5, 45-51..

This key includes 5 species. Aphaenogaster rhaphidiiceps and Aphaenogaster splendida have also been reported from Iran but have not been included in this key.
