    • Type-material: syntype workers (number not stated, “one colony”).
    • Type-locality: South Sudan (“Anglo-Egyptian Sudan”): W slopes Imatong Mts, 4500 ft, 2.viii.1939, no. 1408 (N.A. Weber).
    • Type-depositories: AMNH, MCZC (perhaps also USNM).
    • Subspecies of africana: Bolton, 1995b: 160.
    • Distribution: South Sudan.
