Description
Worker
major L 6,8 mm.
Aeusserliches Aussehen dem C. ustus Forel ahnlich, aber der Kopf viel kurzer, mehr dreieckig, hinten breiter, vorne schmaler, weniger glanzend. Der Rasse toltecus FOREL dagegen wirklich sehr nahe stehend, aber etwas kleiner, mit etwas lebhafterer Farbe, und mit einer deutlichen, reichlicheren, kurzen, gelblichen, abstehenden Behaarung des Fuhlerschaftes und einer schiefen Behaarung der Schienen unten, die der r. toltecus fehlt. Der Fuhlerschaft ist braunlich roth (braunschwarz bei r. toltecus). Die Wangen sind bei beiden Rassen behaart. Bei C. Soulouquei ist die abschussige Flatche des Metanotum deutlicher von der basalen Flache getrennt. Del' Lappen des Clypeus ist auch etwas weniger scharf, mehr trapezformig. Del' Kopf ist unten und hinten gelblich, oben und vorne braunlich oder rothlich; die Mandibeln glanzen wenig, sind ausserst fein genetzt und zerstreut punktirt (ziemlich glanzend bei r. toltecus).
Queen
L. 11,2 mm. Das Abdomen hat eine braune Querbinde auf jedem Segment. Brauner Fleck des Scheitels hinten scharf abgesetzt. Hinterhaupt gelb. Uebrigens wie der worker major. Beine gelb, Tarsen, besonders die hinteren, dunkler. Flugel gelblich, mit blassen Rippen und Randmal.
