Head and clypeus conforms almost as in Myrmobrachys. Frontal carinae shorter and more divergent than in Myrmobrachys. Pronotum broad, shoulders bordered with sharp edges; border, more-or-less narrowly rounded (blunt), continuous onto mesonotum and sometimes on sides of propodeum which is posteriorly rounded (e.g., C. eurynotus, Forel), or border surrounding mesonotum which is separated from propodeum; dorsal propodeal surface narrower than mesonotum and forms, in some species, a mousse tubercle (C. linnaei, Forel), or ends in small, unpaired process (C. saussurei, Forel, allsainti, Wheeler & Mann). Petiole with similar variation as in Myrmocladoecus.

Geographical distribution of the species.- Greater Antilles, Brazil (Amazon Basin)."
